Back from Sabbatical!

Okay, so whatever happened to 2021?  What did I do on sabbatical?  I made one quilt top during the period July 2020 through December 2020 and it was my intention to quilt it at the beginning of 2021, but that didn't happen.  So, here it is:
I started quilting it yesterday and this is how it started.
Step 1:  sew the circles to a scrap
Step 3:  cut the scrap leaving 1-1/2" to fold over
Step 2:  trim the outside with pinking shears
Step 4:  turn, press, and pin to background.  Applique.

Step 5:  cut center circle facing
Sew blocks together, et voila!

Although I started quilting around the circles, I decided to remove those stitches and do a simple vertical line throughout.  I'll post a photo when it's finished.  I'm very unsuccessful at making perfect circles and these are "charm" blocks, though I haven't counted how many different fabrics are here.  Doesn't really matter.  [Apology for mixing up the steps above!]

Take care and have a good year.  I hope to be posting more frequently this year and look forward to adding some quilts, fabric, books, and vintage quilt magazines to the etsy shop in the near future.
